The MMSE scale is simple and easy to use, widely used at home and abroad, and is the preferred scale for dementia screening. There are 30 questions in total, each correct answer scores 1 point, wrong answer or don't know scores 0 points, and the total score range of the scale is 0-30 points.
Scoring reference:
27-30 points: Normal cognitive function;
<27 points: Cognitive impairment:
21-26 points: Mild cognitive impairment;
10-20 points: Moderate cognitive impairment;
0-9 points: Severe cognitive impairment.
MMSE: Mini-Mental State Examination. The score is closely related to the level of education, and the normal threshold is divided as follows: illiterate >17 points, primary school >20 points, junior high school and above >24 points. A score below the threshold for the corresponding education level suggests cognitive impairment.
