Stage 1 |
Muscles are in a flaccid state, no voluntary movement, tendon reflexes are weakened or absent |
Stage 2 |
Muscle tone begins to increase, limb shows associated reactions, initial synergistic movements |
Stage 3 |
Muscle spasticity reaches its peak, limb can initiate voluntary synergistic movements, accompanied by corresponding joint movements |
Stage 4 |
Muscle spasticity begins to decrease, components of synergistic movements gradually reduce, partial isolated movements appear |
Stage 5 |
Muscle spasticity significantly decreases, synergistic movement patterns mostly disappear, isolated movements are more complete |
Stage 6 |
Coordinated movements are normal or near normal |
