Proximal Humeral Fracture Watson-Jones Classification

Watson-Jones classifies fractures based on the mechanism of injury into adduction and abduction types. Since there is anterior angulation deformity at the proximal humerus, abduction-type injuries manifest when the shoulder is internally rotated, while adduction-type injuries appear during external rotation. Thus, the classification standard is not strictly accurate and may lead to erroneous guidance for treatment.
