Bilirubin to Albumin Ratio (B/A)
Ratio (B/A) = Total Bilirubin / Serum Albumin (Common Units)
The bilirubin to albumin ratio can be used to determine the risk of bilirubin-induced neurologic dysfunction (BIND) in jaundiced newborns.
(In common units) Ratio < 5.3 is low risk; 5.3-6.0 is moderate risk; > 6.0 is high risk.
