Explanation
Diagnosis can be made if criteria 1+2+3 or 1+2+4 or 1+5+7+8 are met.
Common in older adults, with a higher prevalence in males. It often presents as intermittent dull pain in the local area, which can radiate to the lateral buttock, groin, and inner thigh. As the condition progresses, it can become persistent pain. Physical examination may reveal varying degrees of hip joint movement limitation and limping.
