Explanation
Diagnosis can be made if criteria 1+2+3, 1+2+4, or 1+3+4 are met.
Common in older adults, with a higher prevalence in males. Symptoms often include intermittent dull pain in the hip, which may radiate to the lateral buttock, groin, or inner thigh. As the condition progresses, pain may become constant. Physical examination may reveal varying degrees of hip joint movement restriction and limping.
