Result Interpretation

Count and assign scores based on the average number of each bacterial morphology observed in every 10 oil immersion fields (×1000 magnification): 0: No bacteria; 1+: Less than one bacterium; 2+: 1-4 bacteria; 3+: 5-30 bacteria; 4+: More than 30 bacteria. A total score of ≥7 for the three types of bacteria indicates bacterial vaginosis.
