FEV1/FVC Ratio = FEV1/FVC

Explanation

The FEV1/FVC ratio helps differentiate between obstructive and restrictive lung diseases. In restrictive lung diseases like pulmonary fibrosis, both FEV1 and FVC decrease, but the ratio can be normal or even exceed 83%. In obstructive lung diseases like bronchial asthma, the ratio decreases.
