Clinical Application

The basic assessment is conducted through the first 5 indicators. After 72 hours, a reassessment using all 7 indicators is conducted.

A Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score (CPIS) of 6 or more (baseline assessment or repeated assessment after 72 hours) highly suggests ventilator-associated pneumonia.
