Explanation

1. Indications:

Evaluate the response of patients with moderate to severe cardiopulmonary diseases to treatment; assess the overall functional status of patients. This includes pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, COPD, interstitial lung disease, lung transplantation, lung volume reduction surgery, lung resection, etc.

2. Contraindications:

Absolute contraindications: Unstable angina or myocardial infarction within the past 6 months.

Relative contraindications: Resting heart rate exceeding 120 beats/min; systolic blood pressure above 180 mmHg; diastolic blood pressure exceeding 100 mmHg.

All patients must have a light meal before the test and rest for at least 20 minutes before the test begins. Patients should continue to use their usual medications on the day of the test. If the patient needs to take a bronchodilator before walking, it should be taken 5-30 minutes before the test. Patients should be advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes for the test.
