Age ≥ 55
Occasional patella tenderness (no other bone tenderness)
Fibula head tenderness
Unable to flex knee to 90°
Unable to bear weight immediately or in the emergency room (can walk 4 steps, limping is allowed)
If none of the above rules are met, according to the Ottawa Knee Rules, no imaging is required.
