ECOG Performance Status Scoring Standard (ZPS)

Performance Status	Grade
Fully active, with no differences from the pre-illness activity level	Grade 0
Able to walk and engage in light physical activities, including general household or office work, but unable to perform heavier physical activities	Grade 1
Able to walk freely and perform self-care, but has lost the ability to work, and can be up and active for more than half of the day	Grade 2
Partially self-sufficient, spends more than half of the day in bed or in a wheelchair	Grade 3
Bedridden, unable to care for oneself	Grade 4
Death	Grade 5

Patient activity status is categorized into 6 levels from 0 to 5.

It is generally believed that patients with performance statuses of grades 3 and 4 are unsuitable for chemotherapy.
