Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal used for local therapy of fungal infections. Topical formulations are equivalent to other topical antifungals for Candida spp. and dermatophyte skin infections. |

Adult Dosage |
Topical for tinea infections: - Apply to affected area twice daily Vaginal Tablet for vulvovaginal candidiasis: - 100 mg at bedtime for 7 days - OR two 100 mg tablets at bedtime for 3 days - OR one 500 mg tablet once at bedtime Vaginal Cream for vulvovaginal candidiasis: - 1 applicatorful (50 mg) at bedtime for 6–14 days PO for oropharyngeal candidiasis treatment: - Dissolve 10 mg troche in mouth 5 times/day PO for prophylaxis of oral candidiasis in immunosuppressed patients: - Dissolve 10 mg troche in mouth 3 times/day |
